Information We Collect
Kids can visit GreatSK8Giveaway.com view content and design their own deck without any personal
information being collected. We do not collect personal information from kids
unless they register to participate in the “Design Your Next Deck” contest.
The personal information collected during our registration process may include
their name, shipping address, phone number, e-mail address, parent's e-mail
address, birth date, and how they heard about GreatSK8Giveaway.com.
Our primary goal in collecting personal information from Kids is to provide
them with a smooth and efficient experience while participating in the Design
Your Next Deck contest. As a result of the volume and frequency of prizes being
awarded, it is necessary that this information be collected to award prizes
in a turnkey and timely manner.
Note that all sites that are directed to children under 13 are prohibited
by law from conditioning a kid's participation in an online activity on the
kid's providing more personal information than is reasonably necessary.
How we use information collected about Kids
The personal information collected
from participants will be used and disclosed by the Sponsor for the primary
purpose of selecting contest winners and fulfilling prizes. The Sponsor will
not collect more information than reasonably necessary to conduct and fulfill
prizes for the contest. Such information will not be used or disclosed to any
other entity for marketing or other purposes. All such personal information
will be deleted once the contest has ended. However, acceptance of a prize
constitutes the winner’s permission for the Sponsor
to use his/her winner's first name, first initial of last name, and city of
residence on the Web site without notice or additional compensation, except
where prohibited by law.
In addition to collecting personal information for the primary purpose listed
above, we use e-mail addresses to send a confirmation e-mail notifying kids
that their contest entry has been received. Kids email addresses may also be
used for the purpose of sharing their deck design with friends and family.
This feature is optional and will be used when requested by the user.
Parent Notification
We send parents an e-mail when their kid registers and
enters the contest and we provide parents 48 hours to refuse their kid's registration
and entry in the contest. If the parent refuses to allow the kid's registration
and entry, we delete the kid's information from our database. If we don't hear
back from the parent, we assume it is acceptable for the kid to be registered
and entered in the contest. If a kid wins a prize in the contest, we notify
the parent at the parent's e-mail address provided to us during the registration
process and request that the parent notify us if they would not like the child
to receive their prize. We may publish a winner's first name, first initial
of last name, and city of residence on our Web site.
Access, change or delete personally identifiable information
At any time parents
can refuse to permit us to collect further personal information from their
kid and can request that any personal information we have collected be deleted
from our records. A parent can contact us to access, change, or delete the
personal information that we have collected from his or her kid by sending
an e-mail to greatsk8giveaway@active.com. Please include the kid's first
name, last name, date of birth and the parent's e-mail address in the e-mail
so that we can better assist you with your inquiry or request.
Notification if our Kids' Privacy Policy changes
We may amend our Kids' Privacy
Policy at any time. We will provide parents notice by e-mail of any material
changes in the way we intend to collect, use, and/or share kids' personal information.
Please note that, at all times, parents should update their personal information
to provide us current e-mail addresses. We will apply material changes in our
Kids' Privacy Policy only in conformance with applicable law, including any
applicable provisions of COPPA that require parental consent.
